The challenge

Senior engineers Glovo couldn't hire from one market alone.

Glovo's engineering org needed senior talent across multiple disciplines - backend, iOS, data - at a level where the candidates are not looking for jobs and do not respond to generic recruiter outreach. Some roles needed people in Barcelona. Others were open to remote. Either way, the local market on its own could not carry the brief.

The shape of the problem: not enough qualified people, in the right specialisations, willing to engage - sourced fast enough to keep the engineering roadmap moving.

The approach

A global, hand-sourced search built around Glovo's actual ICP.

Workfully ran a multi-role recruiting partnership with Glovo's talent team. Not a job board, not an inbound funnel, not a CV-blast. Every candidate was identified by name, evaluated against Glovo's seniority bar before contact, and reached out to directly.

The search expanded to wherever the talent actually lived: Iberia and Brazil for backend, India and Indonesia for iOS, Egypt and Germany for senior data. Local market constraints stopped being a constraint. The 12.6% positive-reply rate - well above the 3-7% industry benchmark for cold senior-tech outreach - gave Glovo a steady flow of qualified conversations rather than a flood of unfit CVs.

The outcome

Hires made. A pipeline still moving. A search that ran where the talent was.

Glovo made hires across backend, iOS and data - with the Barcelona-based backend cluster filled by candidates already in the city, and the rest sourced from markets the team had not been searching in.

The engagement also handed back an active pipeline of senior candidates already in late interview stages - work that compounded beyond the partnership itself.
